On November 2nd, 1913, Giuseppe Talarico arrived in the United States, leaving his family and his old life behind in the hills of Southern Italy. Only a few short months before the one hundredth anniversary of his voyage, Joe’s grandson and his family traveled to the small village of Sersale, in the Catanzaro region of Calabria, to where it all began. Our label pays tribute to our past, proudly displaying a photo of Papa Joe’s village.
Papa Joe’s Wine Cellar (est. 2013) is a small, family-owned winery in Western Pennsylvania. We pride ourselves on creating great wine with the same hard work and passion our ancestors put into their own “vino.” It is with this strong devotion to familial and cultural tradition that we strive to share a bottle that our Papa Joe would have proudly served on his table.
